Action Research

Though long desired and, at times, accomplished throughout educational history, action research has never been better positioned to impact education.  Through the application of modern technology, collaboration in education may reach greater heights in participation than ever before.
Blogging and Wiki's are two technology arenas in which educators may communicate, discuss, share, and problem solve topics.  Collaboration via this media may greatly impact educational effectiveness at a minimal cost.  What a wonderful tool during tough economic times.
Such collaboration is not restricted by time or proximity.  Participation may occur any time of day and from almost any location.  Without these restrictions, a more diverse and inclusive group of educators may participate in professional growth opportunities.
Of course collaboration is only a small part of how this technology improves professional communication.  The entire educational community to include teachers, administrators, students, parents, community members, etc... all benefit from improved communication.
Having long been lagging behind in technological knowledge and skills, I look forward to learning more about the application of these tools and of those in our future.
